Growing up I would routinely clean  my room, which  often involved rearranging my furniture.  It would start with wanting to move the placement of the    bed, which then led to the dresser and then other items, until eventually my room looked completely different.  I still remember my mom asking what I was doing, and I would insist   she leave me be until the project was complete.  Sure enough, she was always amazed at how I could configure my tiny bedroom so differently each time.  With a clean closet, organized drawers and  a new layout, I felt a sense of calm that would last until it was time to do it again.
Today I take that same sense of rearranging and apply it to the decor  in  a home or the design elements during a remodel project.  Finding balances between textures and furniture to make a space functional as well as create a sense of calm.
